Instagram is testing out a feature that lets users add files to DMs (direct messages).
Instagram is currently exploring a new feature that would allow users to share files directly within their direct messages (DMs). This functionality isn’t available to the public yet, but it was discovered within the code of the latest Instagram app update by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi.
What Files Could be Shared?
This feature could let users send photos and videos, along with other file types, all within the comfort of Instagram DMs. This would eliminate the need to switch between apps to share necessary documents or files with friends and family.
It’s important to remember that this feature is still in the testing phase. There’s no guarantee it will be officially released to the public. However, Instagram exploring this functionality indicates their interest in streamlining file sharing within the platform.
